48 Sidewalks will Be Improved

For the sake of safety and comfort for the passerby, as many as 48 sidewalks that spread in five cities will be repaired. Moreover, many sidewalks are not ideal such as lack of width and damaged.

"Indeed, many sidewalks are not ideal in Jakarta. This year, we want to repair 48 locations," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Monday (4/25).

In future, sidewalks that towards station and bus stop must be neat. It aims to encourage people to comfort using public transport. As planned, the material would use cement.

"We do not use brick because this is less friendly with disabled people," he explained.

Basuki continued, the repair will take five years ahead. Considering almost condition is bad.

As for the narrow sidewalks, will be widened by covering the drainage. Additionally, it would be offered to buildings for using a zero building demarcation line (GSB).

"We offer it, because there has been its gubernatorial regulation. In Glodok for instance, it is indeed GSB, we give sidewalk to facilitate people," he finished.
